Best of 2016 (Poll Results + Guest Contributors)

Though we have officially crossed into the new year, for movie fans we still live in the year that was from now until Oscar time. I wrote about how the internet is flooded with End-Of-Year lists (and how that’s a good thing) last week, and now its time for some lists of of our own here. I plan on writing my own Top 10 next week (just have a couple more 2016 films to catch up first), but fist we need to check out what YOU think are the best films of the year. Let’s Talk Summer 2016

As far as movies go, I grew up in the perfect time to be an adolescent male. I was 10 years old when The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter franchises started. I was 14 years old when Revenge of the Sith brought a temporary end to Star Wars (the prequels definitely needed some rewatching as I’ve gotten older). Most influential of all, I was 17 years old when The Dark Knight came out. That film combined with that age launched me into the fan I am today, The Dark Knight really is the Empire Strikes Back of my generation. Continue reading “Let’s Talk Summer 2016”

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer to Debut With ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

In 1998, the year before Star Wars: The Phantom Menace would be released, there was only a teaser trailer. Though it was still the 90’s, Star Wars fans were just as excited for a teaser trailer as they are today. Unlike today, you couldn’t just pull up YouTube and watch the trailer (and subsequently upload your reaction to said trailer on YouTube). You had to pay out cold hard cash to a movie you couldn’t care about, but it was worth it to see that trailer.
